Origin: Boujaad, Middle Atlas
A vintage Boujaad with a central band of eight-pointed stars. The color palette is faded orange, red and black. The stars and other protective symbols are knotted in five short pile bands, between flat woven stripes in red, orange, and black. The eight pointed star is associated with Byzantine culture and appears frequently in Moroccan art. It’s a wonder that we still have this petite jewel of a carpet. In excellent condition despite its age, short pile and flat weave, braided wool fringe intact.
